Description
This my entry to competition to Wonder Woman redesign. I wanted to take her back to her Amazon/Greek roots as the idea was more interesting to me. I've never drawn any superheroes/villians (Marvel or DC) in my life, so this was a challenge for me.Enjoy!

Very nice piece, but the redesign puts her very much into the realm of another DC character, Mighty Isis. More Egyptian in feel than Greek. You managed to capture a sense of strength and nobility in her, though, and for that, I applaud you.

Mighty Isis is an Egyptian based character empowered by the goddess, Isis, much like Captain Marvel is empowered by the gods that spell out Shazam's name. (Don't ask, I don't know off the top of my head) She began in the old Captain Marvel TV series and from there, wasn't seen again until recently in the comics.

So, I was looking at some Wonder Woman movie news today, and said "You know, I want to know what she should look like in the film."
I don't know much of the WW mythos, but I know a bit. Batman has corruption, revenge, and Gotham. Superman has Lois, ultimate evil (Lex) and the world. What does Wonder Woman have? Always felt that she'd be intrenched in Greek culture and mythology. Let her into Man's World, but don't make her a Superman clone with boobs.
This was the first picture I saw that wasn't a Greek take on the Star-spangled panties, red white and gold color theme. I commend you for departing from that and making a picture that really has some classic WW aspects, but makes so much more sense for her. You really should try to get this design to someone at Warner Bros. or send it to Joss Wheddon.

Thanks Timaclaren. I totally agree with her not being a superman clone. She needs to stand on her own merit. I didn't know a WW movie was in the works (inevitable I suppose lol), now that i think about it, the film should be mainly based on her home, Themyscira. Also theres the role of the Greek Gods to. That is more interesting to me.
I know little of her enemies in man's world, unless it's enemies of the JL. Would be cool if Ares influences the world of men to attack the amazonians as I would love to see a battle of epic porportions or a take on the episodes from the JL were WW step-sister declares war on the world of men. (that was a very interesting story as we get to see WW's loyalties divided.)

Let hope they stick to her roots or at least stay as true to the comics as possible. If they pull it off, this could be the superhero movie that a majority of women greatly appreciate, and not another chick flick. The worse that can happen (especially if she wears the red, blue and gold costume), that she'll be in superman's shadow ( or catwoman!

Wow, now that's a wicked cool super lady! ^_^ I've never been a fan of any of the DC characters (with the exception of Batman) but this is definatly a more interesting version of the Wonder Woman character. Very original, great stuff!

I aint come across any redesigns of WW by DC. I don't get the comics and know as much as someone who watched the 70's show and JL.
