I prefer Sheik as a girl, because I like to think Zelda is Sheik. But Sheik as a male is fine too... maybe she just changed her gender... or Sheik is a different person.

I think she disguises herself with magic to look like a boy, but is always female~ ^q^
But that's just my preference of interpreting sheik. : )
