We stan a bitter ambulance man in this household who tries his damnest to fix broken mechs and has 0.000% qualms about shooting your fucking face off if you don’t leave his patients the hell alone.

Ratchet’s been a favorite of mine since 5ever and I adore his humanised version, Ronan Chase, so much that the design and name have actually been used as a full-on OC.

The good doctor’s characterisation in WFC: Siege got me chomping at the bit and I love his determination to patch up mechs from both sides ostensibly to make up for what sounds like his tech being used in the war, esp given his “‘ I don’t do that anymore…” line when Prime tries to get him to fix an important piece of equipment (pressumably because he fears what it’s intended use might be).

 I was sort of torn as to how to depict his outfit, but currently because he was no longer affiliated with the Autobots when we first come across him on Cybertron, I figured he’s no longer wearing his traditional colors and chooses to go for function over form with understated, dull colors to blend in with urban warfare and splashes of his original palette here and there (which will revert back to his full palette when I eventually portray Earthrise snippets).

On the Ark he doesn’t really give a shit about putting up appearances outside of his trademark coat, ever-present coffee and also leave your fucking shoes outside of his office you absolute animals you’re not tracking Primus knows what in here.
