The itch had to be scratched so here’s Humanformers Shockwave who I’ve been dying to try out after reading his IDW continuity storyline. I absolutely love his past as a kindly, good-natured, flamboyant dandy of a Senator and his former relationship with Optimus Prime (as Orion Pax) is horribly bittersweet given the context of what he is now. His human version here is a gifted inventor who actually made the prototype suits Humanformers!Autobots eventually use when Senate goons turn to increasingly violent tactics to quell rising worker’s/human rights protests (which is why ‘Pax’ here doesn’t have it on yet save the headset since it’s still in its beta stages when the Senate decided to initiate a clampdown on all rebellion activity).
As torture and punishment when he was taken as a political prisoner, he was lobotomized and had his eyes and hands removed so he couldn’t work again (or so the idea was) until Megatron enlisted him as part of the Decepticon movement after a violent coup in which every senator present was murdered except for him. He was offered a new eye and hand to work with, which he accepted on the condition that he had free reign to run his own questionable experiments in his free time.

‘Shockwave’ was a nickname he earned in his Senate days as a very striking, passionate assemblyman prone to calling out wrongdoings and gaffes of corrupt or incompetent officials and putting them on notice, so it often felt like they were hit by a ‘shockwave’ and forced to act.
