Sorry ^_^' I just go with male by default, I guess. Don't take it personally - it's nothing to do with the way you've drawn her, I think it's just because I tend to think of male astronauts rather than female, so 'male' was my first thought - it's me being sexist I guess ^_^'

In all honesty, she doesn't look overly masculine so I initially thought she was a young male, so her look would work for a female character as well. I hope that makes you feel better... I don't think it's your drawing that's the problem, it's just the way I associate certain things with male/female labels.

Oh, no need to apologize! Early sketches looked weird and much more masculine. Obviously I had to work more on it. Happy to hear that female interpretation works too, so thank you for your answer! And yep, it made me feel better indeed

I think the figure of the head tells us that this is a male, nose is big also, though I can't explain exactly why we see it

Add some eyelashes, they're the most common and more or less obvious "this character is female" sign.

Я рад, спасибо! Ужасное лентяйство, конечно, но нравится оставлять один цвет акцентом среди серятины или приглушенных остальных.
