Please note that this is entirely possible to carve, but just might defy the laws of gravity unless you take a very sturdy pumpking and certainly needs a lot of patience carving.

what people do is support parts that might otherwise collapse with toothpicks. It marks up the design a little bit, but it holds everything together if done right.
