Description
A graphic work about the first turkish latin letters of 1928. The speech of AtatΓΌrk about this reform was translated into German. The alphabet in the center of the composition is a facsimile of a printing house of that time which I've found in a book dealing with this issue.Designed with InDesign CS. It's an old piece.

There were many reasons for that change. Technical reasons (concerning the relationship between the turkish language & the arabic alphabet) as well as sociological and political ones. The idea of changing the alphabet was not a new one at that time (1928). Decades before intellectuals of the turkish world thought about that type of reforms.
Peace
