unfortunately it's usually later, rather than sooner. I love your pose here, you always pose with such purpose and do so very well. Paired with your descriptions your art, I feel, is above and beyond most other self portraits I've found. I hope you never lose your inspiration.
I read in the comments that you bought the gun online, have you ever tried to make your own props? Granted, I haven't made many of my own, but I've always found making things relaxing, and if you have a knack for it you might save yourself some money and maybe inspire more works. Not telling you what to do, of course, and I hope you don't take it that way, just asking
