Description
I love puns.
Random brainstory for the month. T and his 'sister' Aisis, they're not related by blood so much as concept. :U It's complicated, maybe someday I'll write down my notes.
The joke is a Shedu is a winged creature with lion body, eagle wings and the face of a man from Mesopotamian mythology, and a sphinx is a wingless lion with a female's head.

Šedu isn't from Macedonian mythology but from sumerian/akkadian mythology.
Lamassu/Šedu are a pair of protector species. The name Lamassu among poblation maybe denotes that "lamassu" is equivalent to "angel". And the Lamassu/Šedu paintings remember to much to early seraphins.
So, in conclusion. Sphix and angels are a evolution of the Šedu (male) and Lamassu (female) creature that was a protection creature and comes from the Mesopotamian mythology (sumerian/akkadian/assyrian [later])
Greetings
Apart from the above comment, the picture it is really great

I think I meant to put Mesopotamian rather than Macedonian. M words and I should have double checked before submitting, but thank you for the correction. ouo-b
Also I didn't know about the Lamassu/Sedu maybe meaning angel, that adds a whole level of meaning that I'm very fond of.
As far as I had known Lamassu was female and Shedu was male and they were beings with human heads, lion or bull bodies and wings. Then a sphinx was female, and was sometimes pictured with wings. So I was playing off more of the physical relationships, I'm happy to now know that there is more of a direct relationship too. So thank you very much. <333
