I actually can hear it in my mind!
Amazing how you have captured this quite ordinary event and made it look so intriguing.

I think that's why this is one of my favorites of mine, to think that it happens every time and we are not able to actually see the details and things going on as we are on this photo! Thanks so much, I'm glad you like it!

My god. That is, utterly fantastic. I am entirely envious of this shot. Not only is the water perfectly frozen, but the subject himself is brilliant. The pose is perfectly timed out and the choice of the depth of field enhances the look, in my mind. I love it, completely.

Thanks so much, I'm so glad to hear that
I sometimes get surprised with the ideas I come up with for my photography This one is one of my favorites too!!

No problem. What most surprises me is the lighting. Whenever I take pictures at a pool everything turns out dark and green. I'm curious, just what kind of setup did you use?

Sorry for the late reply. Here is everything I did to get this shot!
I did use a tripod to lock the focus where I want on manual, and also everything on manual on the camera with a very fast shutter speed. Of course I needed to have a lot of light from the sun (the pool was outdoor) to allow the shutter to be extremely fast and plus it allowed me to have a low ISO, used the built-in flash of the camera on its maximum power and a polarizer to cut out some of the reflections. The lens used was my 70-300mm, which allowed me to set the tripod far enough to prevent getting the camera wet, and voilรก!

Ah. The outdoor part explains so much. Not many of those in Minnesota.
Anyway that always seems to be my main problem. I just can't seem to find a location with sufficient lighting. I'm not the best at location scouting.
The true disappointment is the fact that I can't find my tripod. It hampers things so much. I can't find a decently priced one.

Almost all pools here in Brazil are outdoors, it is hot here!
A tripod is essential, then you can just find a pool on which the sunlight is strong

Ah, but of course. A friend of mine went down there for that very reason. She hated the cold.
Personally I want to do some night shooting. Some of the lighting around the campus is really interesting and I don't trust myself to hold still long enough.

very awesome, although I must say, I definitely cannot hear the water... it feels frozen in time, I don't expect it to ever move.. excellent capture

You have a good interpretation of this, I like it! Yes it's so true that it is frozen in time! BTW thanks, I'm glad you like the photo!!
