Well-ignoring the not getting into it part-Torchwood is a spinoff of Doctor Who based on the character Captain Jack Harkness from the Bad Wolf episodes.

Well he's one of the main characters in it. And it's got cannon slash in it but Ianto-Jack's boyfriend in the later part of the show-dies.

ah, I see. They're relationship is somewhat similar to Kirk and Spock's. Data's an android so he literally can't feel any emotions (but he wants to) and is socially awkward where Geordi is just kinda adorable throughout everything .

Ahhh. See, I knew that Data was an android and that Geordi was on the Bridge Crew(can't remember the position at the moment)and that was about it. I'm definitively a Trekkie but I never really got into TNG. I was more of a TOS and Enterprise fan.
