another program design cover for da school.... yeah..... GO HNM!!!I tried to shade it with pencils -- didn't work out (BIG understatement) -- freaked out -- called Koel.... she saved it with whatever blessed computor program she used -- looks great *thumbs up*
now... go to worship her for saving the day, and beg her to put up the shaded version of it up!!!! NOW!!! VITE VITE VITE!!!
I wish I could clean up on those lines, but i'm pretty happy with the design overall. i'm not sure if you can see this, but she is singing.... not just openeing her mouth-- and something. =-=; Can't wait until they print them out-- Then I'll get to have a few copies!!! ^^
By the way, the poem along the edge is:
Music speaks what annot be expressed,
soothes the soul and gives it rest,
heals the heart and makes it whole,
flows from heaven to the soul.

I remember seeing it, and I suppose I had been "meaning to", and never got around to it...Nina forgets things...she also frequently talks about herself in the third person.
Anywho, she loves this! It reminds her so much of the wonderful Alphonse Mucha. The curly hair is beautiful.

....SUPRISE!!!!
You wouldn't have known, but I was in the school band as a (crappy) flute player for two years. 
But because both Visual Arts Council and Music Band practice was on Tuesday, I picked art. Last year, I would go for around 15 minutes of VAC, and then run down to the basement to the practice, and then run back up for the rest of the VAC meeting. It was kinda hectic and rather disruptive for the band, so I decided to quit. Besides, there's an entire ARMY of flutes this year. =_=;;;

and there's also Julienne, of course, (she does writing) and Kristin... you know. And not to mention Naila and her sister Malak!!!
annd... Mariel, her friend Jessica, and Katy. You should see some of their art. Fraeya... Sophie... Nina... they're all in art school now.

apparently Ms. smith just threw somehting together for the cover because no one came up with a design. She was pretty happy when Naila and I submitted this one. ^^

I'm kind of embarrased to say it, but I was actually trying for that art nouveau kind of feel, but it didn't turn out that way.
Point is, I managed to make something simple... something I don't have a knack for. I'm glad you like it for it's simplicity ^^

Thank you! It's a really fun style to look at, but (at least for me) a terribly difficult one to capture or even imitate.
I would love to see your stab at art nouveau. Do you have many friends from your art school who have deviantart accounts? I'd like to see what kind of stuff they're doing too.
