Description We see things in black and white
As adults.

As children we
View the world in color.

...
This photograph
was shot in Amsterdam
Next to the
Van Gogh Museum,
where I met my DA friend Marc.
It was raining and sunny all at once
and there she was,
kicking the water around
and laughing to herself...

FearMyLackOfSanity [2005-06-22 01:27:16 +0000 UTC]

That's really spiffy! I love how she's looking back at the camera, with a look that's almost urging the viewer to join her, and play in what's left of the rain. She looks so innocent and csrefree. Most people wouldn't want to step in an old, empty, rained-in fountain, afraif of what might be in it. She's just having fun, not caring, figuring, hey, how often will this opportunity come?

Woah, rambling, sorry...worthy of a DD, if only I knew how to suggest such things.

don't think classic portrait is appropriate but rather photomanipulation or darkroom based on DA description. Really cute shot nonetheless.

Nice shot. Maybe little more space on the left and less on the right but it isn't very important here couse I like composition as it is.
I do not say a word about this colour mixing (b&w with some colour) couse I do not like this type of manipulation

But the photo as it is is really really good. Waiting for another

is she the next Massiah? She's walking on the water!!! ...so how'd you get the girl in colour? ...Reminds me of the girl in the red dress in Shindler's List, ... I'm an adult...kind of...I hope I don't see the world in black and white!! ...Hey I've been to that museum... its was great!! blah blah, talk talk

I loveeeeeeeee Schindlers list.. But no I didnt do that on purpose.. I desaturated the bg is all.. As for what it was it was a large empty fountain she was walking in that had been rained in a little..
You been to the VGM? I was in total awe..
I HATE being an adult.

Oolostentity, You have a wonderful habit of quoting from songs that I know, Blackbird, on the Beatle's White Album right?

Really great shot Aimee! The mix of colour and black and white has been used a lot but you've used it to truly stunning effect. I think 'Emotive portraits' would work better as a category, although the category it's in is fine too. Fantastic work!

I thought about emtoive and I saw that most of those pics had no children in them or scenes, they looked more like studio shots..
Thanks for your critiques.. you da man Dolly Doll
