May i ask is there any other rules on these chars like what rights we get to them/what we can use them for or what we can change about them? I'm a published author and any chars i buy i would like to be able to use in my books. Is credit needed (and if so how much is due) or will a char be completely mine once i own it?

Once you buy it the characters belongs to you. Some of these have restrictions but most do not.
so basically if you wanted to buy one and add on to it you could,you could change anything about it unless told otherwise
