i've been seeing chibi gem adopts around and at first i was like "hmm seems interesting i should make som sometime"
and then DA started the buy 1 get 1 free core membership thing that ends on the 11th and i was like "oh hey now i have an incentive"
yea so long story short im trying to get 1200 points
also!! if you buy two gems then you get a fusion of them for free; if you get the ruby and the sapphire you get a garnet, if you get the jasper and the lapis you get a malachite, etc.

i was basing it off the concept in the show that there are multiple of the same gem types that look similar but not the same. like you know the rubies? and the pearls?
if you think they look too much alike you can just say that. i'd like to know what i can do better. but theres no need to be salty about it thats not gonna do anything

i think different colour palettes definitely wouldve helped. the ones u have used rn are almost identical (or maybe purely identical?) to the ones in the show

okay, that helps a lot actually. i put overlays on their colors to tint them and make them different but as you said a lot of them still look too similar so i'll work on that. thanks for the advice!

okay if anyone sent you points return them because these are just the shows characters drawn in your style. You didnt come up with the original designs and you are stealing from Rebecca Sugar who created the show. And what youre doing can send you in jail. it doesnt matter if its for points because points are still a form of currency

except that its canon that there are multiples of gems in the show (example: rubies, pearls, etc) and they dont always have to look exactly the same

they might be the same gem type but its pretty obvious if you look at them for more than five seconds that they're not the same. they dont have the same outfits, the same gem placements, or the same color schemes as the canon counterparts so i dont know where that came from lol

they were supposed to look similar to the original canon gems bc they're the same gemtype. gems of the same type look similar in the show and that was the concept i was working with bc i thought it was interesting. but i didnt mean to make them look identical

Ignore those people, my main argument is always that multiple Gems of the same type are confirmed, and like with the Rubies, they can have very similar color palettes, hair, and gem cut, so it should not be a problem.
Plus they look different for the most part??? I suppose that Ruby and Lapis miiiiiight look a little more similar to their canon counterparts, but I mean, whatever. It doesn't matter, and people shouldn't judge you because of your designs. They are very obviously different, and people should be respectful.
As for Rose and Amethyst, could they be a Smoky Quartz, since Earthlings happened (I don't want to give any spoilers if you haven't seen it yet!)? Also, I'm going to have both of them be "perfectly cooked" Quartzes (so broad shouldered and tol), so could the fusion reflect that please? Thank you so much

yea, i was planning on making their fusion a smoky quartz because thats what a rose and an amethyst make together (i have seen earthlings, it was a good episode). i'll make the fusion look as broad shouldered and strong as i can

Ah awesome! I wouldn't mind them being a chubby floof ball either, but it's your choice what to do with it, you could make them strangely lanky if you want, I'm giving you creative freedom for the fusion! The only things that I'd like to put in are 1) They're taller than canon SQ, since they're both taller and bigger than Amethyst and Steven, and 2) to have 4 of something (I'm personally thinking either eyes or arms, but legs or divided arms like canon SQ would be cool too! I'm planning on making their weapon being a morning star of some sort if that helps you with designing them. Amethyst will probably have something spiky as a weapon, and Rose will probably have some form of whip to make the mace work, I don't know if any of that helps you design SQ LOL)

Hi there, you can have them back and what I mean by that is that you can resell them. I've noticed that I have too many adopted OCs and I really need to cut back on some. I can't draw all of them but back then I used to be super excited to adopt anything and everything and while I do love them... I know they will just keep sitting in my folder. Please take me out of the owner as the description. ;-;
