Immature - Honestly Mavek has no mature fiber in him. If you're viewing it in a less serious fashion, he's immature in the sense that he jokes around too often and will pout and throw small tantrums when agitated. But in all honesty he never learned proper coping mechanisms when he was a child. And just... doesn't know how.

Low Self-Worth - Often Mavek jokes about how he wants to die or how he's a literal trash can. He frames it so that it's all a joke but he does legitimately hate himself with every single fiber of his being and wouldn't care much if he slipped and fell while doing his work. Or while he works with the Dirty Bandanas. Everything is a means to an end.

Distrustful - Mavek doesn't... really trust anyone. He'll make up half truths to tell people or just flat out lie to their face. As a by product of having to protect himself as a child he doesn't really trust anyone as a self preservation technique. Doesn't mean he doesn't have close friends, he just... don't trust them not to leave or hurt him at any given time.

Playful - Mavek will throw puns and jokes at the most inopprotune times and the more opprotune times. He just really likes joking around. Because jokes can mask literally any other feelings he might have. So just... expect him to laugh in most situations no matter how inappropriate.

Adrenaline Junkie - Given he's been depressed for most of his life, when he first started going to a gymnastics/parkour fitness classes he got hooked when he fell and almost broke his arm. It made him feel alive for one of the first times in his life. And it very quickly became a huge part of his life. He can be found trespassing on private property quite often so he can run from police or security. He feels alive for so briefly.

Insensitive - Because Mavek never truly learned good coping skills or great socialization skills from his parents or peers he tends to just blurt out whatever he's thinking and having others' feelings as just an after thought. He knows he does this. He doesn't like it. But he doesn't know how or want to ask for help to change. People leave anyway. No point.

Lonely - Mavek self-isolates as a shield against people leaving him as he figures leaving first will make him safer from being hurt. But really he just hurts himself and feels completely alone by himself in the process. He's vaguely aware that it's not healthy but then again he's not very healthy so whatever.

Sarcastic - Mavek is sarcastic about 75% of the time and is joking around the rest. Very rarely will he ever give a straight answer or a serious response unless he's seriously upset or seriously angry. And by that point he's not really willing to listen to reason.

History (tw: abuse, neglect, depression)
He likes to joke when people ask him where or how his childhood was by just shrugging and saying to check out the latest soap opera on TV. In all reality he grew up in a broken home. Neither of his parents were very outwardly affectionate or caring. They did care about him and his brother, but they couldn't ever see past their money troubles or the problems in their relationship. His father was abusive and the major bread winner of the family and was afraid to leave should she be unable to feed her kids anymore and just became bitter and took her frustrations out on her boys. Switching between being happy and verbally berating Mavek. And as he was the oldest he got the brunt of it all.

Eventually his mother just up and disappeared. Not wanting to risk the possibility of starving her kids, but ultimately being unwilling to take the physical and mental abuse anymore she left them when he was 15 and returned out of the blue when he was 17. During the two year absence he'd take everything from his father and protect his brother. Very quickly developping a stoic attitude to life in general, it was unfair and didn't care. So why should he? Eventually he just... stopped caring about himself and his life and focused on being the best caretaker to his little brother that he could be. And was not pleased when his mother tried to return and just resume her role as mother. He absolutely would not put up with it. He eventually found solstace in the gym he went to for gymnastics as part of after school hours for his physical education mark. Becoming obsessed with the idea of free running and vigilantism.

Though once he turned 22 and made sure to get himself and his little brother out of the house he fucked off to Pokeyo City to get as far from his family as physically and finacially possible. Transfering his work to a facility in Pokeyo City as a free running coach and fitness trainer. And then after a couple years of living here, The Dirty Bandanas caught his attention, fighting the government in anyway possible. Their morals aligned with his, and he... was losing meaning in life and figured hey, we're all gonna die someday, might as well choose how. And so he followed lead after lead to join, eventually finding his way into their ranks from a fellow member of the gang. He mostly works as an intel collector and "spy".

TLDR; Uncaring parents + abuse = a salty boy with affection and self worth issues. He left his home to move to Pokeyo and joined The Dirty Bandanas.
