My half of our trade, for . You are a dear heart and I had to bump you up the list because you have truly been a great friend to me recently so the extra specialness of this is my gift to you.

The sketches are in my gallery, so you know they were drawn separately, I forget how long they took to do, but I know they have been laying around for about a month. The colouring, sketching, shading and planning took most of today, from say 1pm till now, 1:50am
I'm really enjoying my art at the moment. I love these two in particular as they have the most beautiful designs and knowing secret info on them, the most wonderful storyteller incharge of them. Utter joy to do this.-----
"Mylaera" (the gorgeous reddy/chestnut Fearaki) and "Mwaiyho" (the hansome steely/grey/blue Fearaki) are the soul property of she owns them!
"Fearaki" are the soul property of I created Fearaki and so should be mentioned if you create one, I love to see new Characters and for me, its all the more special when I created the species, its a big ego boost and right now, thats something I need.

lol I chose to do your Kiger Mustang, proving a little tricky to draw the image I have of him/her? As I cant seem to find much background on it. You know me, I like to put a little symbolism into pictures

For some reason I'm more comfortable with Equines than Fearaki of late. Its a tad upsetting but when I give it some Equine I get something like Dee...which is just right on the money as far as I'm concerned!

You really think so? MaxChaos mentioned a similarity to the Spirit mustang animation style, does that bother you? I didnt use any reference for his expression and its creepy how its turned out...Let me know what you think to that, I have it in mind to change it to remove the similarity.

I have no problem with the similarity -- actually I didn't catch it till you said something. Since I love the movie and really enjoy the animation style, I would take it more as a compliment than anything else -- and there's plenty there to separate your style from it. =]
And nope, he's not got a name. The "kiger" part is actually his breed -- [link] 
So he's just a mustang, who happens to be a kiger breed -- incidentally, the kiger is what Spirit was based on, anyway! *laughs*

I did do a little research into Mustangs to get a feel for thier anatomy and I read that Kigers are of Spanish origin, but most Mustangs are Lol!
Typical similarities huh? Well at least I can rest assured then that the sketch is pretty accurate

*laughs* Yup, I always find it funny when they specify that -- but then again, it's probably done because they have a predominantly spanish anatomy, whereas the brushtail (cur) type is more muddled.
[link] is a paso fino, for example, but shares a lot of anatomy things (like that gorgeous neck, the shorter body, the thicker hindquarters) with the kiger mustang type. =]
And I've got your sketch done as well! <3 I really like how it came out, very nearly kept it for myself, but wasn't able to be that selfish. *grins* I chose Dee, because I think everyone deserves fun new fanart when they make a character that means so much to them.
Are the markings very much different on her than on her ex-fearaki counterpart? I need a side ref to try and get the swirls positioned properly and I want to get it as close as I can.
Also, do her wings change colors, or is it a standard color scheme? I wasn't sure if the dominant color might change depending on her mood. =]

Her wings do change colours, but within the range that I rendered, blue/green/purple, but yes in different amounts

This is just amazing, I adore the feel of it! Your digital colouring has just gotten better and better, I am LOVING the details you put into the fur and musculature - Mwai's face especially is arresting - and the delicate outline, which is a difference from your usual rawness but a quality I definitely love :3 There's still that you-ness in it somewhere, the abandon in the soulcolours flying out behind them. The words are a lovely touch - I can't quite read what Mwai's say

In every piece of literature that these two are mentioned in, every deviation I have scoured, listening to you when your brainstorming, the feeling I get from you when you talk of them, these are the words that I associate with the two characters, that is why I put Mwai as the older (This is just me, I dont know if its true to your plot line) the gardian and the fighter, the brave one, trying to find a better life for the two of them, thus his stern expression, the concentration/determination of an older brother (I dont have an older brother so I really had to guess 
I have always been privileged to call you friend and it warms my bones to the core to know that you feel the same. *hands you a glass* to friendship! *clink*

I feel like I've known the two Fearaki here for so long that bringing something to the artistic trade table for Swift wasn't that difficult, Swifty inspires me to push the boat out and go that one step further plus I just love these two and I wanted to make them look gorgeous for her
