boil red cabbage you can make just about any colour by mixing either lemon or baking soda, real strong colours! Archival properties are pretty shit but mad fun to make.

good to see your still rockin mate.

had a really cold fall so can't spend too much time in the studio ( shitty heater in there), mostly putting it down in the street.. but we've been really spoiled with good weather for the last 2 months or so, so been back on the canvas lately.

it'll be interesting to experiment with the next batch and see if i can find something to help stabilize it.

Tutorial on the beet ink please?

the stems have a better color than the beets themselves.. so i just ground the stems and strained them.. then added a good amount of vinegar to help the color stay ( fruits and vegetables and juices naturally fade and brown over time). The first batch I made, I tried to very slowly reduce ( put over heat in order to steam the water off and condense the color) big mistake... just browned the ink.

So ground up stems, vinegar, and... then what?

That's awesome to hear you made your own ink. I love what nature provides. Awesome.
