Description Before the First Great Tournament, Sir Jesstith and his chimera Lacedaemon were a pair of novice competitors, with a good amount of natural talent but little real-world experience. Though they failed to win the tournament, their moderate success and prowess in battle turned them into local celebrities when they returned to their small village home. In the years since, both Jesstith and Lacedaemon grew more powerful, honing their skills in battle and gaining fame as local heroes.

Thus, when news of a second Tournament was announced, Jesstith entered with the cheering and support of all his fellow villagers. Jesstith and Lacedaemon began their journey to the site of the Tournament. Shortly thereafter, however, tragedy struck. While traveling through a dense, isolated forest, the convoy was ambushed by a group of highwaymen, riding monstrous mounts of their own, and employing the blackest of magics. Though the pair fought well, the benefit of surprise proved too great. Both Jesstith and Lacedaemon were left for dead.

By the time the pair was found, little could be done. Jesstith lay unconscious, being kept barely alive. If he ever awake, he will likely never walk, or even talk, again. Lacedaemon also survived, due to the innate healing abilities of a chimera, but he now bore the scars of this brutal attack. A fortnight before the Tournament was to begin, a letter reached the doctors caring for the two, and Lacedaemon was sent on to the kingdom holding the Tournament.

Upon arrival, Lacedaemon was greeted by Dionysios, a young satyr whom Jesstith had taken on as an apprentice. Hearing the news of the attack, Dionysios sent word at once that he would enter the tournament on Jesstith’s attack, taking his place as Lacedaemon’s rider. Now, with the Tournament about to begin, Dinoysios is ready to avenge his incapacitated teacher. Once the Tournament is won in Jesstith’s honor, Dionysios is going to find the group responsible for this attack, and make them suffer.

Yessirree, this bad boy is back (I'm sure no one is surprised I decided to pick my chimera again)! Okay, so, obviously, this is my entry for 's contest (which I had forgotten I helped inspire! ). Technically the third in the series, after [link] and [link] . Man, I sure have put the poor guys in the wringer this time, haven't I? I didn't mean to write so much, but this was the story I had in mind and I had to get it all down. I was also considering making the injuries the result of the last tournament, and having the satyr be the mentor instead of the apprentice, but whatevs...anyway, I'm pretty happy with how this came out, hope you guys enjoy!

It's definitely my favorite contest, so I'm glad to be back in again Thank you! Since I haven't drawn much lately, I really wanted to try and put a lot of work into this, especially, with the lighting/shading...
