they made it red because he was the original robin, robin's are known for thier red breast, he should never have gained the nickname "blue bird" but he did. and the blue symbol was far better then his current one.

He became Red because Dick became stronger but darker, and he needed change the suit beacuse he was felling like a new kind of hero, like batman, i think he became a Dark Knight and it is okay because now he understand why batman was like that when he was robin

All of the Batboys are red now! :c They could have tweaked the Nightwing outfit a bit without getting rid of the blue. This is beautiful, though ;A;

I get the feeling it's to show his change. Since he basically left his 'Nightwing' identity behind when he became Batman, and he's changed since he became Batman. It makes more sense for him to move forward and have a new outfit than move backwards into something he'd left behind, which would probably also explain the different design on his chest, it's more bat-like than his old Nightwing outfit.
