Description
Emerald was a rumored secret character from Mortal Kombat II. She was first mentioned on the March/April 1994 issue of Game Informer. She was described as a “Mileena-ish character” wearing a green outfit, but with a different shade of green than Jade’s.Since the article stated that the player had to perform a fatality on Jade in order to fight Emerald and that wasn’t possible in MK2, people ruled her out as a joke and nothing about Emerald ever came to surface again. Funny enough, the article also described Smoke as “a Raiden look-a-like who used smoke instead of electricity”. You gotta love the 1990s.

I have a theory, what if they made Emerald for Mortal Kombat 11? Hear me out, in MKX she's pretty much absent for the whole game and is only seen in Kitana's ending as a ghostly figure reaching out to her revenant friend. What if her body is possessed into a vicious fighter that is now refer to as "Emerald", poses as Jade (similar on how Mileena is a clone to Kitana) and even have a Mileena type moveset when she fights?

Thanks! I should also point out that Ed Boon loves rumored characters. That's how we got Ermac, Rain, Skarlet, Tremor, etc. So maybe we might get Emerald along with Nimbus, Pedro and Khrome in the future.
