a trope i very much enjoy are characters who are usually very demure, sweet, and kind being simultaneously capable of absolutely unhinged and feral rage if something strikes a nerve particularly hard. Especially if they're also the type to be very visually "pure"/pretty/angelic and would in most cases be someone who we'd think of as a traditional hero. Just smthn v narratively interesting about somebody so self-assured of their own righteousness and good intentions that they will always view any reaction or emotions that they have as correct and justified.
Laurennes is one of those people! Raised on classical hero narratives and simplistic good vs evil fairytales, they are very comfortable with the idea of being judge, jury, and executioner when it comes to any foe they might find themselves up against. While well-meaning, polite, and often quite timid by default, they can be brutally and apathetically cruel to anyone they judge as "evil," and have a notably violent and bloody reputation amongst those who know them well. But as long as you haven't done anything wrong, you should have nothing to fear! Right?? Right!!!
