This is so great. Such vibrant color on the moon with no clouds to obscure it. Nice contrast in colors. The ideal would be if ther were just some nearby clouds that would be colored red by the moon. Or if the moon itself was red.

In my experience you can't overexpose the moon while having proper exposure for the hills and such.

Actually, no. one exposure. But I know what you mean. Photographing the moon is tricky. But on this one I knew that the moon would be up before sunset. So that the terrain would be lit enough to do this kind of shot. I think maybe the sun was down on this one but it was still enough light, barely.Β
