I don't totally agree with this critique, but I see where you were coming from. Β If the shot was composed to bring the house to the lower left corner, it would have taken away some of the reflections of the sunlit treetops, which I feel add to the shot. Β It's a fine line to walk to ensure everything you would like is in the shot and still keep to the theories of composition, especially when you can't necessarily get to an angle that allows for both. Β I think Ole did a good job bringing the shoreline as close as possible to the lower third-line while still keeping the essence of what the shot was supposed to capture.
That being said, I still think it's a fair critique, and I would hope that people were just as honest when critiquing some of my work. Β We may not always totally agree with constructive criticism of our work, but just having the differing perspective helps to make us better. Β Keep up the good work, Ole, and thanks for sharing your input, Brandon! Β

Hi there! I appreciate you being honest and your effort to write a critique on my work. Thanks! But I have to say I dont really see your point. From my point of view this image is very carefully put together whilst keeping in mind the rule of thirds. Thats why the landline corresponds with the lower third of the image and the first treeline corresponds with the upper third. The cabin is in the lower corner because of the golden ratio, I think its called in english.Β
I did consider leaving out the golden light in bottom and that would get the cabin even lower. But it just didn't look good to me.Β
Ill set this as fair so it will appear for everyone to see, just incase anyone else has an opinon. Thanks again.Β

My first and most recent was almost exactly a month ago. My aunt married a Norwegian back in 1980 and now they have two sons and a grandson.

I love this... It feels very tranquil, quiet... serene. What time of day did you take this photo? The light really sets the mood here... Well done.
