Description
This looks like the real deal, however to any fans of the Cobra out there maybe you know better. The car carries all the correct badging on the surface, however I am not an expert in destiquishing an authentic Cobra from a Factory 5 replica.Related content

Recent discussions from a couple of very knowledgeable individuals told me you really have to look and know what to look for to tell a Factory Five apart from an actual Shelby especially if the customer wanted everything as close as possible to the original. This a really great car, and has the real look from in period.

There were I think only about 55 original 427 Cobras manufactured by AC Cars. Even Carroll Shelby tried to fake a few 427 Cobras built in the U.S. and there are lots of 427 replicas. So the odds are if you see a 427 Cobra it is a replica. When I worked at a restoration shop we would get a lot of Cobras, most of them replicas. Some replicas were good, some were so awful that I would never want to drive or ride in it. Some replicas were great, with all the right things in the right places and high quality workmanship. Most replicas have fiberglass bodies. We had one customer with one of the best replicas I've ever seen and he took excellent care of it. It's not this one but his was a lot like this except he had red stripes on the fender and a racing windscreen. This car has the right clues and the look of the real thing or one of the really good replicas.
We had an owner of a real 289 Cobra (with a documented and verified CXS2*** VIN) who had his pride and joy serviced at our shop. It was an unlicensed machine set up for racing. One day our shop manager took me for a ride in it - on the road! I was the guy who kept watch for the local constabulary and monitoring the cellphone because the other guys at the shop would call us if a cop car went by. We did have to duck on to a side road once. But I was actually glad to be a passenger that day, to experience the complete orgasmic fun of being in a real historic machine being driven by someone who was familiar with the car and knew how to use it. I couldn't get the shit-eating grin off my face for days afterward!

Hi Jim, nice shot, looks like a real one from here a look in the grill opening or under the hood would be needed for further id though.
