Description
This one was for my Life drawing class. I quite liked doing this one. For the fact that I learned a bit about hatching and cross hatching. My teacher had us doing reproductions of masters drawings. I really liked that class. It's to bad I flunked it. Done with pastel pencil.Related content

I'm still trying to find a rythmic style that I can just use all the time. Saves a lot of time when you have a certain flow of things. Practice. I'm Eddie

The problem with the lower left leg is that the line defining the calf is too long for the angle. Other foot is fine. The middle knuckle of the left hand looks caved in...
And is still a great piece!

Yeah I thought the same thing when I looked at the original artists drawing. But none the less I was given a project to reproduce what I saw. So I didn't have much choice in the matter. Thank you.

Part of the reason why I never really went to art school. Took a couple of classes... lucked out with cool teachers.

I must say that it has been a help to learn a few more things. I 've fortunately had a teacher whos got a degree in Illustation, so she knows exactly where I'm coming from.

Awesome. Unfortunately, we artists tend to be an arrogant lot. I've heard of so many having problems with their instructors.

There is a fine line between being arrogant and just simply knowing you're a great artist. But, to make one self be humble about it is a struggle among so many great artists. they over price and get a big head about everything. I hate that. Because I look at the world of art as a never ending learning process. You may have your minions, but what kind of person are you going to be if you should get your hand severed for some odd reason. I think that approaching things with humility will open your eyes to a great many possibilities in this life regardless of art. And in every aspect, you will be great.

Very well done. Most impresive. Great use of shading and light. I agree with the others though in regard to the left foot. Excellent work.

That is such an incredible piece, it almost looks like he is a ball of fire or something. There is a great sense of emotion and tension.

Beautiful anatomy.. the position is great - this huge man who withdraws into himself, something very fragile about that.
and the color and lines are great.
I really like it.
Faving it..
