Description
This is surely a first for any Power Rangers series. This is the world's, possibly, first ever anti-hero Ranger… The Nega Ranger.

As you can see, he has three different forms. From left to right…

Nega Ranger - Basic
Nega Ranger - Super Dino Mode
Negarassic Ranger

His story is actually quite interesting. You see, when Nick Oliver was freed from the darkness that corrupted his green Dino Gem, it was later revealed that when he first touched the green Dino Gem, it was actually his own dark thoughts that infected it. And when he fought against those dark thoughts, the darkness left the Dino Gem, and took on the shape of a dark clone of him. This clone, who refers to himself as just simply the Nega Ranger, uses a dark Dino Gem, formed from the darkness that corrupted Nick, along with a personal Dino Morpher, to morph into a dark Ranger. He even has his own Super Dino Mode, and commands his own fleet of dark Dinozords.

When Nick received the Jurassic Shield from the magical Duplication Lake, the Nega Ranger quickly realised that, if Nick now had that much more power at his disposal, then their fight would be uneven. So he had to level the odds. So while the Power Rangers were battling a new dinosaur monster, the Nega Ranger stole the Jurassic Shield, and went to the lake with it.

When Nick, morphed into the Tyranno Ranger, arrived at the lake, he encountered the Nega Ranger, who, just like that, tossed the Jurassic Shield over to him, claiming that he didn't need it, anyway… Because he had his own shield now. The Nega Ranger had dipped the Jurassic Shield into the lake, and created a copy of it, which had been infused with the darkness from the Nega Ranger's dark Dino Gem, to create, what the Nega Ranger refers to as… The Nega Shield. Now, with the Nega Shield, the Nega Ranger now has the ability to morph into a dark version of the Jurassic Ranger. A form he refers to as… The Negarassic Ranger.

The Nega Ranger views both the Power Rangers and the dinosaur monsters as a his enemies, and will fight them both, if he has to. But on a couple of occasions, he will help the Power Rangers, if he feels that he will lose something if they lose. He likes to consider Nick, the Tyranno Ranger, as his main rival in life, and is determined to prove to Nick that compassion is a weakness. But Nick's objective with fighting the Nega Ranger, is to prove to him that, no matter what he says, the Nega Ranger actually has a kind of deeper respect for Nick… Almost like a brother. Because, Nick wants to think of that as the only real logical reason, as to why the Nega Ranger keeps coming back to help Nick and the other Power Rangers.

(When I started to work on the Nega Ranger, I wanted to create the sense that he is a kind of negatively charged copy of the Tyranno Ranger, and so I found that the most logical way to display that, would be to have his Ranger suit be identical to the Tyranno Ranger, only with reversed colors. So, instead of having a green suit, and a helmet with a black visor, like the Tyranno Ranger, the Nega Ranger has a black suit, and has a helmet with a green visor. For his Negarassic Ranger form, I kept his reversed colors, and only added the orange details, to replace the details that are otherwise colored in gold. The other new details I added was some orange on the helmet, as well as the horns, to represent the power of the Carnotaurus.)
