Description
So, today I decided to design Blaze's parents.
This will be canon in my series, Sonic Headway.
I have decided to call Blaze's mother Dahlia the cat (dal-ya), and her father, Facile the cat (Fas-il).

Dahlia was born into the Solian Royals as the heir.
Dahlia remembers a lot of her childhood mostly from her active mind. She usually has to give herself a task every now and then to keep her mind from being "bored".
Her parents died in the war against the kingdom of Lurid when she was 10. The battle was at its peak when her father was needed in the battlefield. He was taken out in a brawl against the enemy king, and didn't return home. The only thing the Solians could retrieve of their fallen king was the cape he wore. It was casted into the sea as the Solian fleet was retreating, and was found by a soldier that was knocked into the water for a moment. The news reached Dahlia and her mother, and the queen was left in charge of ruling now.
A couple months passed with the bloody war going on. It was starting to look like it was going to end, but not after a Lurid assassin came in and eliminated the queen while in her sleep. Dahlia was his next target, but she managed to escape his grasp when a batch of guards came rushing in to her aid. The murderer was pretty hard to see, but Dahlia could make out a dog-like face. She couldn't tell who exactly was the killer that night, other than he was definitely a Lurid.... but used the fighting style of a Solian.
After a few years of war, the Solian put in charge of the kingdom for the time, gave his son to Dahlia as her husband and next Solian king. Facile was a rather mellow fella, but at least he fit the role of king and supported his wife when the time came.

Facile grew up with his father, and no mother. She left them when he was pretty young, but it didn't really affect his emotional state. Yes, he lacked the support a mother naturally gave, but he learned to deal with things later on. His father was always busy, which ended up inspiring him to become smart and a hard worker as well. He studied hard when he went into schools, and dreamed of working in the castle one day. After he was out of school around the age of 12, he got the news that his father got a job in the castle, and was now appointed as a higher ranked man. A few more years passed of being in the castle, and he had grown a bit close to the princess living there. It surprised him when he was elected to be her husband when he turned 18. Dahlia was only 16, but early marriage was required for ruling if the king and queen were killed.

Facile and Dahlia worked hard to end the war, but the Lurids were relentless. They took a number of islands from Sol, and they had enough. The new rulers released Iblis, using him to destroy the Lurids... and ending the war permanently. Facile suffered a major burn to his face after Iblis lashed out at him right before it was sealed. Focile is also now blind because of this.

It turned out that Dahlia was with child a month later(as in she was pregnant). The family celebrated, and a few more months later the child was born. She seemed to be... cursed with a power of flames. The last royal to be gifted with abilities was Dust's child... and that was many, many years ago (remember that Facile is not part of the royal bloodline). It was thought that all of the royal powers had faded with time, so they named her "Blaze" to resemble the power she was born with. Some people suspected that the child was cursed by Iblis when he was released, and treated Blaze like a demon in some ways. Kids teased her about her flames, calling her "Iblis daughter" "Fire cat" "Bane of the Flames" all to make her feel worse. She was even shunned by a few adults because they feared what she could do.

For the most part, Blaze has her father's temperament. She can be very bold and easily angered, but still practices staying calm. Her mother taught her how to be the guardian of the Sol emeralds, just like her mother, and her mother's mother etc. A lot of the people think that Blaze isn't worthy of being the next queen because of her "curse". She was sent up north to train with her powers, but most of her training was done down in her home with her mother, though most of it was focused on Sol emerald energy. A lot of Blaze's free time is spent on her own terms. She usually chooses this time to go to her room and study, walk around the castle, or just be with her few friends.

Overall, Blaze's family is pretty relaxed and easy going, aside from Facile's occasional temperament mixed with Blaze's. The daughter and father can get into a few scruffles, but it never lasts long. Blaze spends most of her time in her own room to study her forms and dances while using her flames. Her room was made Flame-proof as well, ever since she was very little. People teasing her while she was young didn't help her social structure very much, so she decided to shut people out and lose interest in making friends, deeming them as "useless for my goals." Luckily though, Sonic came into her life and taught her how valuable having allies is, and she opened up to some more people. With the current result, Blaze is happier. But her people still have suspicions of her power.

Maybe I'll come up with a backstory for Sol and stuff. I've been looking at the Sonic wiki for some information on how I can make my stuff feel more canon.
