well most of his friends are dead. BUT he does have friends that do like ice from other universes. He visits them a lot to keep them safe

Well in some way. Since he did lose his own universe with friends and family an having his friends and family possess him to kill other bad guys to save a universe. Yea that's kinda one way to put it
