Orr... Shadow is just being Shadow... and asking Sonic what he just said... like "I lost the chaos emeralds" not... "I support you and my friend being a couple even though you're 50 and she's 12, making this totally wrong, but who cares anyway!? 
Yee... not a Shamy fan because of the age gap and the fact that SEGA kind of ships it... along with Nintendo. Ever seen the Olympics loading screen for ice skating 2014? Sonamy stuff.. so yeah... no Shamy for me.
And Shamy is kinda... bleh? On how it's like... someone writing themselves into Amy, so that they can pair themselves with Shadow...

Well, according to Shadow is "alive" for more than 50 years, kept in suspended animation, his body has lived that time but his conscience no, we are clear that he's the one and only ultimate Life Form so he stays in his 15-16 for ever.
So, for me, nope, he doesn't have 50. And no, it's not bad at all.Β
And if we use games in reference, let's remember Sonic Adventure 2: Battle in the iconic scene of the Ark where Amy reminds him of Maria's true promise, just mentions to fulfill it for Maria and for her.Β
Another example would be when Shadow arrived at the doctor's castle and find Amy.Β He helps her look for Crema who had been lost,Β then he mentions:
"" I didn't have any reason to help her, but since i was looking for the doctor anyway, i figured.. ""
Just Shadamy Stuffs.
I don't say that "they are destined" but the "Sonamy" is not definitive either, especially when Sonic always flees and leaves nothing clear.
Not to mention that ends up being king of acorn ...

Yeah, I do know that... but it still bugs me :/
Though, I think Shadow doesn't spend enough time around Amy for their relationship to grow much more than they have. Yeah, Shadow kind of likes the way Amy is to a degree, but she's just too focused on Sonic for him to care really. And in all honesty, I doubt Shadow would want to ever have a relationship with anyone. I mean, he's immortal for heavens sake. If he got married, his wife woyld die eventually.. then what? He just gets married again and again? That sounds really wrong to me.. because then becoming married becomes more of a pleasure of company than it is about caring for another person.
God... that's deep...
Now, as for Amy loving Shadow... I think Amy is a little too hyper. She's kind of like my mom in a way, how she doesn't necessarily "grow up" because all she wants to do is have fun. (It's called a Sanguine temperament) But then again, my dad is rather mellow like Shadow, but has a dominating side. So this would be the Melancholy/choleric and Choleric/Sanguine relationship. Meaning that one side of the relationship is happy and controlling, while the other is mellow and controlling. But between the two, there would be a few disputes between them because of the Choleric sides.
Now, someone also explained why Sonamy works so well. Knockabiller had said something similar to: Sonic is afraid of being married because of limits he sees, while Amy sees marriage as being with her love forever.
She doesn't see it as a limit, and more of a bond that keeps her with the one she desires most, which is Sonic (as seen in very, very many games). Sonic is rather scared of the tie of marriage, leading him to stay away from the fun Amy provides for him. Now, the two as a couple makes sense to me because I have studied how personalities work. I think I see Sonic as a Sanguine/Phlegmatic and Amy a Choleric/Sanguine. Meaning the Phlegmatic in Sonic requres naturally for a Choleric like Amy to make him get up and do stuff and have fun.
The thing about Amy and Sonic is that Amy will drop everything she has just to be with Sonic and adventure with him. I think a lot of the Shamy fans emphasize the fact of Sonic "not caring" for her by running away, when in truth, it's the limit marriage gives that he's afraid of. We can see in many scenes that Amy's one of Sonic's close friends like Tails and Blaze.
A thing about Sonally.... (one, it's not canon to the games, lol)
The reason Sonally just doesn't work... is because of the limit Sally puts on Sonic. In a way, she's like Chris on how she's always around Sonic, making him what she wants him to be. Like, if Sonic were to be king, it'd destroy all of his freedom he loves. Just think, if Sonic ended up being in that political situation, he'd fall apart. Everything he says and does will be used against him in debates and stuff. Sonic isn't built for that at all. He's all about freedom, something royalty destroys because of extreme responsibility.
Now, back to the Shamy...
Yes, I agree that Shadow does seem to be a bit more friendly to Amy, and Amy had him promise to her on saving the world... but she's a Sanguine. Sanguines care for people and are very social. As we can see, Amy cares for a lot of her allies, and I see she could have seen good in Shadow. But it doesn't mean this is like a Disney movie when a female sees "good in him" and it becomes "true love". Seriously though... we have to think of this logically if we want a good ship.
Sonic is there. Amy is obsessed with Sonic. Shadow reminded Amy of Sonic, so she cared to send some kindness. If Sonic weren't there, I think the ship could happen. But he is. I doubt Shadow would ever get married, or try to because of his immortality.
That's my "proof". :T
I base off of personality traits and what really goes on in the games. Never do I use the archie comics as an example because of the many different writers and limits they have. And... I was never really a fan of them because of all the relation drama.

Something we must make clear is that we are talking about "Shipps" so neither Sonamy and Shadamy are Canon, so thinking logically is redundant.
If we talk about personality we are based on age and Amy is a girl of 12 years, Sonic of 15 and Shadow (as I already clarify) possibly of mentality of 15-16.
Therefore, it doesn't mean that Shadamy is possible, but in the future maybe. At this point we already see certain liking of Shadow with Amy. It's true that she has an obsession with being reciprocated by Sonic, but will grow, and persecution will end up being what in real life is, an annoyance. Sooner or later Amy must mature and has the potential to do it so, only now she is very young.
There I would have to "mature" Sonic so that the Sonamy can be canon, and well ... I don't see any mature future to him xddd
Now, with regard to whether Shadow comes to "settle down" I don't see why not, it's a life form, not a robot, it has feelings and it's clear to love (as a friend) Maria. Obviously he will never grow old but the opportunity to love was granted, we will never know. Β It will be very sad but... can be.

My conclusion: None is Canon so far, the most likely for how Sega would see it would be Sonamy, but the Shadamy is strong, remember that Sega is known for giving his fans what they want.
Now, this year the comics of Sonic return, I assure you they will give us in all the face with some canon to calm the fans, we will have to wait and see what happens hahaha
By the way, I don't hate the Sonamy at all, I have read and seen the Sonamy and it's seems very nice, my problem with the Sonamy is it's much better a hedgehog that doesn't run away from you or rejects you, because his neutral , besides that Amy is open to give a lot of love and we feel that Shadow that's what he needs, that's where this Shipp was born from the complement of giving and receiving and it makes sense.
Let's think about it a bit, Shadow has no knowledge in relating to anyone, or anything, therefore he's very "edgie hedgie" becauseΒ he has to learn, that's where Amy is the best candidate to teach him.

You make a fair statement.
But one thing about Amy maturing... wouldn't that make Sonic realize she's not that bad? Such as, if he saw she wasn't so crazy about him anymore, wouldn't Sonic "make a move"? The thing about this relationship is that I don't clearly understand their personalities since I'm not a Sanguine or a Phlegmatic. So I don't exactly kbow what could be going on in their heads.

Sega... never gives us what we want... okay? I mean, sonic forces was okay... but they're feeding the fans like... the eight year olds. A lot of the fans are teens and young adults, so what sega is doing really isn't what we want because of the kind of... childishness in the games. Now, you may disagree, but that's okay. Not all fans think the same way XD.
Now, one thing I noticed a lot of Shadamy shipers throw out of the scene... is Rouge.
I've played a lot of Sonic 06... and I've seen a lot of different cutscenes concerning Shadow and Rouge... and you know how you said "Let's think about it a bit, Shadow has no knowledge in relating to anyone, or anything, therefore he's very "edgie hedgie" becauseΒ he has to learn, that's where Amy is the best candidate to teach him." I don't think Amy is the best... The female Shadow is ever really around is Rouge... and looking at the cutscenes for 06.. (that's the game everyone seems to act more "mature") Rouge seems to "crush" on Shadow.. while Shadow seems to defend Rouge in a lot of ways.
First defense: whit acropolis, Robots fall down and Shadow steps in front of Rouge holding out fists.
Second defense: kingdom valley: Robots fall down, Shadow shoots his litteral arm in front of her while glancing at her.Β
Third defense: after the scepter of darkness falls, he catches her from falling instead of the scepter when maybe he could have used chaos control to get them both? (we see he uses chaos control in the beginning of the game, but some reason doesn't use it now?)
So... Shadow "needing to learn about love" or something, won't come from Amy. Only gecause he's never around her, and because there's already Rouge, who is mature at the age of eighteen.
And just to level things out, when Rouge was trapped on prison island in SA2, Shadow was reminded of Maria also. Could have been all the ugly makeup or something, but still. I think after being asleep for fifty years, Shadow was really confused and scatter brained. Even in his own game he was off. When Sonic battle came around, I think he was almost healed other than the loss of energy.
So in this case, Rouge would replace your Amy because she is the only female Shadow is ever around. I don't think the two would really make a couple myself, but I don't really know how it works since im still rather young.

You hit the nail on the head, you're too young to differentiate the friendship (camaraderie) from the attraction (taste).
Rogue and Shadow are partners, just like Sonic with Amy, they would hardly help each other, they are friends!
And it's also all I have to say.

Eh, I might be able to at this age... 14? Seems like I might understand why people feel attraction and such.. It's the personalities and how they feel attracted I don't get though.
But friends are the closest things you have other than family... which no one seems to have in the games... I think it's rather cruel to say that being friends would make them "Hardly help each other". :/
Bonds of friendship are rather strong, leading people to develop relationships later on if the chemistry is right sometimes.
But eh

I'm 26 years old, I can say that you have a mature way of looking at things and that's pretty good. The theme of relationships based on friendship / feelings / hate are complicated. If I lack (and I'm married) imagine you.

Why wouldn't I see you! My tastes have nothing to do with appreciating your talent, I tell you that I not only see shadamy, I see everything and respect and I admire the works.
Obviously if you draw Shadamy I go crazy for you hahahaha but I think I'll stay with what I can write, very few what draw my favorite couple so well, like aymiaymi, God thanks to her I wrote again haha.
