Description
I wanted to do some sort of dramatic/make-you-kinda-space-out-and-think kind of picture and... this resulted. For those unfamilar with the character, The Question, Vic Sage is from the DCU (duh.) he's also currently appearing on Justice League Unlimited in his animated form.

I hear ya on that one..
Thank gosh for the Reboot coming up. All my faves will be resurrected.

Yeah what about all that. You know, I reached a point where it just wasn't realistic for me to keep buying, thanks hermes for the internet so I can keep an eye on the goings on of the universes.
So you are pro reboot! I would probably be miffed if I was a regular buyer, but in my old age, I get less bothered by the influx of reboots and remakes. I am interested to see what they do. Just glad swamp thing is back, they are even doing a past tale of the Justice League Antarctica! WOO!

Yeeah I hear ya on that one. That's pretty much what i've been doing. Keeping an eye on things and whatno.
Indeed. I am pro-reboot. Which is shocking a lot of people apparently. I mean, as much history as there is... it's all great.. but with SO MUCH OF IT..... a reboot would be a good way to push through and see new ideas come to surface. I'll still keep my "life" within the first round though. Hehe. but yeah. I'm interested to see what they'll do.
Woooo! Even more awesome!

Question. Nicely done. Very up close. He's been moving up on my list of DC comics favorites. More so since I am writing fanfic with him in it. Huntress eventually comes into it since its based in JLU.

Awww thank you again! VERY much so!
Question is an easy favorite.. I'm so glad they gave him more "screen time" both in the JLU series and in the books. His character just adds so much for a story.
Best of luck to you with your fan fic writing.

Indeed. In my story he naturally comes into the League because of Cadmus. At the same time he's also Huntress living across the hall from him.
The man's not blind. He's just kind of a workaholic. I also did alternating chapters between him and Huntress when they appear in the same episodes.
So alternating between them is its own way of endearment. Especially in her case for me. He is one of the few people she's met that makes her feel good about herself.
Of course that's a stretch for me to say that for him in regards to her. I just feel like love has a redeeming quality for her.
He keeps her from making a decision she could come to regret when it comes to Mandragora. He already suspected she might not do it, but somehow him being there assures it.
Of the way he confesses his feelings for her, that's kind of like me. All that feeling and not very good at expressing it.
Been posting the chapters for a couple of months on FF.net. I felt like I couldn't write a standout Question story without her in it.
I have also in ways gone beyond the last episode of JLU by shifting his foe from Cadmus to the Illuminati.
Around half of what I have written so far is set during the series but it is not until after the Grudge Match chapters that I started trying to go beyond.

Awww.. now that sounds pretty neat. heh.. And yeeah that sounds like Question. A workaholic.... One wrapped up in his theories and such.
Sounds pretty intriguing! And all cute n' stuffs at the same time. Ooooo Illuminati! now THAT has to be neat. O_O
Maan i haven't been on FF.n in SO long. I was there sooooo early in the beginning when that site opened up. I even was able to get the original name "Batgirl" with no numbers or underscores or anything of the sort. All the stuff three is crap since it's like 10 years old, maybe older.. and I should really remove it. I had a lot of my ooold stuff up on a personal fan site I had running for a LONG time. it just recently got deleted when geocities decided to make all the sites there vanish. At least I have all the files.

for the longest time I just read stories on FF until I registered for my own account. I started off small scale then went on to the longer stories.
Such as the Q/H story Tangents which I already talked about at length.
I also wrote and am rewriting one about the Justice Lords.

Oracle01 In reply to Knight-Watcher [2009-12-31 07:27:27 +0000 UTC]
I like some of the shorter stories.. but then all of a sudden they came out with this chapter feature which was kind of neat but by then I had moved beyond that place to really care too much I got more hits on my fansite than I did on ff.n. I was able to put up more insane stories over on my site too at the time...
Ooooo the Justice Lords... THEY were great

Knight-Watcher In reply to Oracle01 [2009-12-31 17:46:24 +0000 UTC]
I really went into the psychology of each Lord as I saw it.
I wanted to see if I could write something that would sort of account for how they got from that moment where Luthor is a pile of ash to where they are in Two Years Later.
The results while not pretty, they do feel dead on to me.
My take on the start of the lobotomies was similar to what happens to Tim in RotJ.
The only difference is Superman knows about the disappearance thanks to Diana. He shows in the nick of time except he go further than just disarming Joker.
Then he goes off to do the same to the others. Batman decides to change tactics in order to keep Superman out of Gotham.
The Batclan can't fathom much of these changes so they leave including Alfred.
I mean I know you don't see the Batclan in the episode, but the lack of anything, even Alfred is telling to me.
Lorder Wonder Woman kept at it with Batman, but even that fell apart. She turns cold in her own way and repeatedly keeps her hair to the same shortened length.
J'onn becomes more like Dr. Manhattan when he leaves Earth. Meaning J'onn stays up on the Watchtower almost all the time.
GL's uniform inverts and he just believes its their job to make sure the world doesn't blow itself up.
Shayera just goes along because the five all she has on Earth. She's afraid of people though in some ways she's more afraid of those closest to her.
Ultimately when I got to Superman, the immediate thought was no more Clark Kent.
Lois for that act alone is really peeved at him for, but other things upset her as much.
Essentially I believe Lois knows the identity thing, but she doesn't press him about it.
He's made mistakes before in any reality, but in the Lords reality he really went off the deep end.
I had Lords reality Lois keeping a lead lined box with trinkets in it from before the Lords took over.
Likewise I wrote a flashback of her with Clark before the Lords took over. It is meant to show how she felt so close to him then in contrast to now where its like bickering with someone who looks like him instead.

Oracle01 In reply to Knight-Watcher [2010-01-01 12:32:40 +0000 UTC]
WOW.. now that's really extensive. The thing with J'onn sounds about right. It was kinda hinted off to that in the series.. well in the comics anyway [JL(U) Animated] that's kinda what went on. They had a really fantastic story in one of the issues in regards to that... I can't remember it very well but it was super awesome.
Really sounds awesome though.

Knight-Watcher In reply to Oracle01 [2010-01-01 17:17:19 +0000 UTC]
some amount of what I came up with for the Lords fed into the Q/H story. Mostly in regards to Question's attempt to figure out why there was a cover-up around the same time Luthor was pardoned.
So he finds all these buried video records regarding the prison fight for starters. Then there's the power disruptor which Luthor gave up too.
A Better World as Timm admitted did a lot of foreshadowing towards JLU and the end of JL season 2.
The Justice Lords story eventually turns into what happens to that reality without the Lords around.
I wrote it as Batman stepping down and turning himself off to be tried for his 'crimes'. The other former Lords didn't return immediately after having their powers switched off.
So I time skipped some before the others came back.
Each one sort of remains without their powers for a long time in story with the exception of Superman.
Eventually that reality goes through its version of Near Apocalypse of 09. An event referenced in Out of the Past (BB).

Oh wow... now the deal with Superman sounds awesome. To me it appears you've put quite a lot of effort into writing this out. Something with the Justice Lords just gives any story element that extra edge.
Out of the past was awesome... *sniffs* I want classic BB/ZP/JL/JLU/TNBSA/SS back on the air with new episodes! D:

Hiya! You have great timing...I just discovered this charater and wanted to see more of him! This is great...I love how he's in shadow and the way the collar of his coat turns up, and drawing him in profile is also pretty effective!
I saw The Question for the first time ever on that episode of JLU with him and Huntress (man, that was a great episode! I was really kinda hoping that Huntress would really kick Black Canary's butt and get it over with, though... ), and I thought he seemed like a really intriguing character, but, not having much access to my comic shop lately, I haven't read any comics with The Question in them, so I don't know much about him.

Oooh wow. hehe. So you just discovered him pretty much, huh? That's cool! A Question fan "in training" per say.
I know what you mean. A lot of stuff on Question isn't as asseable as it once was. Maybe if you're lucky your comic store will have a few of the comic back logged. That's always promising there.
I agree with you though. he's an intruiging character. thanks so much for your words, hon.

The Question was created by Steve Ditko, a mystery man in his own right! Such a great character, and voiced by Jeffrey Combs(of Re-Animator & a million diff. characters in the Star Trek Universe!), on JLU! Did you know that the revamped(and much creepier, I might add)Scarecrow from the New Adventures of Batman & Robin, was also voiced by Mr. Combs? That design rocked(complete w/hangman's noose), and the ep. is one of my ab. favs.(Barbara gets gassed and has a killer vision of a world without her!)!!! An excellent rendering of the Question!!!!!

Well, if you keep coming up with such great pieces, then I'll just have to keep throwing them(comments) your way!!! I too, am richly interested in all forms of animation...especially voice acting. I am actually quite interested in becoming a voice actor, myself! I try and absorb any and all info about the field, and the actors within it as well!!! Frank Welker, for example, is an elite in the field. He's voiced characters in almost every Hanna-Babera cartoon mad since the sixties! He's also done Disney films, and other well known toons ta' boot! You're very much welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
