My wiretapping fed.
I did this for a power point presentation on Illegal Spying. I tied my project in with the whole EFF vs At&T/Verison. (If your curious everything about THAT case can be seen here: [link] )

Amanda Tapping and Richard Dean Anderson are stranded in an underground frozen place (turns out to be Antarctica).
Of course they and we don't know that at first.
Anyway during an out-take she's all like I'm trapped in ice with McGuvyer.

Yes they made a few other self references to more recent things too.
There was an episode that was an overtop parody of Armageddon.
"I saw the movie... it hit Paris."
They use a cargo ship's hyperdrive to minutely time a hyperspace window to take this planet killer asteroid through the Earth.
O'Neill also famously says "Carter I can see my house from here" when the ship-asteroid gets very close to Earth.

Yes... more Oz references get made as the series continues (especially in Season 7 Lowdown).
The 200th episode actually contains a direct Oz parody as well as parodies for Star Trek and Farscape.
Farscape because Ben Browder and Claudia Black became regulars/recurring in the last two seasons.

Yes... its like I remember... tends to be useful... a lot with fan fiction writing. Though I still rewatch episodes of various shows because I feel it strengthens the tie.
If there is a tie-in with a story.
Ben's character grew on me but I was always amazed by the Richard-Michael dynamic especially in the episode where Daniel literally did die.
Not the temporary deaths he had previously. The time he died in towards the end of the fifth season.
They thought the series was done back then except that's when SciFi picked it up and keep going for another season.
They thought it would end not with 5, but 6. 6 did so well so they got 7... then 8... then 9 and 10.

its spin-off Stargate: Atlantis... only last half as long. Science fiction shows don't have a good running life span anymore or it seem so.
The good shows always make my fridays. Now its like well I got them on DVD... still not quite the same.
