Satellite picture from NASA at 250m, taken about 2 weeks ago showing the billows of smoke making its way from the Sumatra landmass of Indonesia (on the left) to the Western Peninsular of Malaysia (on the right).

Red frames outlines areas of intense heat and fire activity.

FYI, setting fire to forests are known as slash-and-burn in which is the cheapest and fastest way to clear land for a major cash crop that is Palm Trees. Plantations of such trees will be created all for the sake of palm oil a valuable commodity that can be processed into edible oil and similar products, converted into biodegradable plastic, as well as a source of renewable (read: repeated planting) fuel source.

Ooh... cool. We took this up a few years ago, and I always wondered what these activities/movements looked like.
