Waiting for

Prolonged death is
Salt that I excrete
Bile in mouth and
Heart in hand
Regurgitate
Your life in whole
Every breath
So slow

Pushed onto the deck
To hang myself
Looking at the sun
I self-expel
Tying brick to feet
The sea beneath
What’s the point in life
What else to see?

I can only
Waste more money
Lost in a world
Of not my own
Who’s to care
The polluted air
I can’t find
My pair

Someone’s ripped these veils
Too soon and cast
Aside all falsities
From my eyes
I have seen God
With my own heart
And to see humans
Destroy

Honeyed words ooze
From my battered lips
Cracked and crumpled
Into bits
Pull these strings
And fly those wings
Cut these loose
Right now

To the groves
