It was for a school assignment in which we had to draw our own interpretation of a painting or sculpture so I did my own more modern perspective.
Jesus and Mary in this situation is replaced by "cool" looking characters seen much in video games and movies to show the decrease of intellectual analysis that sculptures and artwork used to hold because of the distractions we face in our daily lives.
