To explain weaponry:
Forerunner (Promethean Rate) armaments:
Boltshot, standard Forerunner pistol
REQUIEM VARIANT is single-fire, shotgun-alternate-fire. WARDEN VARIANT is semi-automatic burst of three shots, no alt-fire.

Suppressor, Forerunner assault rifle.
REQUIEM VARIANT is a fully automatic rifle that increases fire-rate if trigger is maintained. WARDEN VARIANT includes tracking if aimed down the 'sights' that the plates create.

Light Rifle, Forerunner marksman rifle.
REQUIEM VARIANT has two modes of fire; if not zoomed, three-shot-burst; if zoomed, a single shot that uses three shots of ammo that does superior harm. WARDEN VARIANT does not include these options but opts for fire-rate for damage exchange based on if the wielder zooms in with the weapon or not.

Scattershot, Forerunner shotgun.
REQUIEM VARIANT and WARDEN VARIANT are indifferent with the exception that the WARDEN VARIANT has aim-down-sights, using this extends the weapon's length and concentrates it's spread.

Binary Rifle, Forerunner sniper.
REQUIEM VARIANT can fire up to two main shots a clip. A single shot can disintegrate a Spartan completely without resistance. Scoping emits a laser-sight that reveals the wielder if unaware. WARDEN VARIANT fires Sentinel beam-like bursts per 'shot' and it's laser-sight beam is slightly less obvious.

Incineration Cannon, Forerunner heavy weapon.
REQUIEM VARIANT has one shot per clip and can reload. Fires a main projectile that, upon impact, bursts into four lesser projectiles. WARDEN VARIANT has no reload and has to be completely replaced if out of 'energy'. Standard trigger-pull instead releases a two-shot volley, while charging it will then unleash it's iconic projectile.

Forerunner weapons are also surprisingly flexible and can be repositioned to look like a completely different weapon.
Examples:
Boltshot, small, thin plates shift back to protect the hand.
Boltshot, entire weapon extends forward, small, thin plates shift into a bayonet.
Boltshot, lowest front section realigns to extend the handle, small, thin plates shift back into a little shield to protect the hand.
Light Rifle, the two plates behind the scope would unlock, flip around to the front, and then clip onto a surface below the front of the weapon (namely cover); the weapon would look like a giant engineering tool at a distance.
Light Rifle, the two plates behind the scope would relocate to the front, converting the rifle into a viable analog to a pickaxe/shovel if required.
Suppressor, middle set of plates extended outward into a small shield mounted on the front of the rifle, the top piece flips upward and acts as a sort of scope.
Suppressor, all the major plates distance from eachother equally but stay as sets except the middle, the topmost piece would shift to cover the middle set's gap.
Suppressor, the middle plates and the topmost plate move to the very front of the weapon, giving it a 3-fingered hand shape. Likely used by Knights to pick up things beyond their little hands' reach.
Incineration Cannon, front lower plates can be rotated to act as stabilizers, allowing the weapon to be used as if it was a mounted turret.
Binary Rifle, longest plates extend to the front with smallest plates becoming a hilt; this weapon is now a large sword, probably suitable for Ur-Didact.
Binary Rifle, longest plates become a shield at the front, smaller plates reinforce the larger ones.

That's why I wrote it; though the examples of 'possible alt weapon positions' is not canon.
