Cool, the lad looks bout ten or eleven, so the question is why program him, and to do what, mow the lawn? Or is this a new form of home schooling?
Purpose of art is to get the viewer to think, and it achieved that goal. I agree the white eyes are kinda creepy, but would vacant stare be better? I think not.

is the most vulnerable age, which should form the character and ideals.
if you could program him you could create a person that suits your needs, but at that point it would not be one person, but a machine. and would not be nice.
