I’ve been doing some super fun experiments that double as gifts for some pals, here’s my attempt as some mock cels in photoshop!All characters belong to their owners, y’all know who you are, thanks for letting me play with your babies!!! <3
Might open up for comms in this style at some point in the future!
(I plan on getting my own “old animation cel” base to use guilt-free but these ones are all placed on old Bluth cels I edited a little)

Ahh thankyou so much ;; Always way too kind omg!! Mock cels are so much fun to do, I have a giant folder of (mostly bluth and ghibli tbh) cels that I just stare at for ages, it's a wonderful aesthetic LOL
And yes! That's actually why I've been doing these tests for pals, I do plan to open up a few slots in future if folks are interested

They look very much fun!! I have yet to grasp the progress of making a mock cel, though I hope that at some point I'll understand it well enough to incorperate it from mind to paper!
Oof that sounds like such a treasure chest of inspiration ; ; I have some ghibli artbooks amongst the one I have collected over the years and tbh?? None give me as much inspiration as those haha!

It's something i've been trying to emulate for a while and finally feel like I'm getting the hang of it, I think it's mostly in the lineart and colouring?? But omg each time I try it's different, can never really tell LOL. If you ever want some tips to trying it out feel free to hit me up and I can share what I've figured out so far!
When I open a few slots I'll try posting them here before twitter, but I also often forget about dA because im terrible at multiple-gallery management ; w;
