Description (Can I just note that I love everyone decided that iterator clusters come in 4s? It’s adorable)

Alright, two of these are like 4+ months old, I’m sure you can see which one because the anatomy gets less lazy as the doodles get newer. The local group for the associate campaign (which I wanna make I just can’t program lol) are a fun bunch who work incredibly well together- no I’m kidding they’re all traumatized this is rainworld

I will now dump 20 paragraphs of lore. Behold.

Stars in the Night Sky (SNS or Night) -

Night is a kind, slightly eccentric Iterator, with a knack for genetic manipulation and scientific discovery. She was built near the end of the Ancient’s age, when so many workers had ascended that there was barely any materials left to build. Despite this, there were a few holes in the Iterator network that needed to be filled, so Night was created with minimal resources and extreme efficiency.
Due to that, she has many deficiencies in her operation, including monochromatic vision and limited control of Overseers. She used her limited power (along with input and supplies from West) to create the Associate, a purposed organism meant to help with the upkeep of her frail superstructure, and act as her companion.

Sunrise over the Western Waters (SWW or West)

West is a weary and easily annoyed Iterator who works on geographical mapping of the surrounding area. His construction was finished a few cycles after Looks to the Moon, an Iterator from a nearby cluster. After he was activated he became the location of a small geologist colony, and was treated roughly by the inhabitants because they never thought he was enough, despite his highly superior processing power. He has almost triple the amount of neurons of other models, and uses this to calculate numerous issues at the same time such as mapping routes, making sure Night is running at safe temperatures and has enough supplies, and finding more water-efficient ways for newer Iterators to live.

Despite his gruff demeanor, he cares an incredible amount for Night, and would do anything for her. When the Associate interacts with him ingame, he’s fairly friendly.

-

Sunset Across the Fields (SAF or Fields)

Whatever West is, Fields isn’t. They have no rhyme nor reason, and are quite kind and receptive compared to their ‘brother’. In theme with their opposite-ness, they harbor contempt for Night, and by extension the Associate.

Before the Ancients disappeared, they were in charge of studying agricultural phenomena, specifically the arboreal structures that seem to appear around tribes of slugcats. They could never figure out what was happening with it, and eventually the laboratories they were using for extra info were shut down due to lack of staff.
They despise any purposed organism in their system, yet are incredibly friendly to other iterators (besides Night obviously.)

They used to be close with Daylight before his strange personality shift, and was even happy to sit through Daylight talking about what ‘his’ kids were doing day to day. Now Sunset is secretly worried about Daylight, as any purposed organism, Overseer, or even overflying spy Vulture disappears mysteriously when entering Daylight’s territory.

Daylight Where the Corpses Lie (DWC)

Daylight is a slightly timid and incredibly hyperfocused iterator, with worrying mood/gravity shifts and glitches in his system.
Daylight was originally built to take care of the Ancient Children, who cannot not ascend nor enter the cycle until adolescence, so they need to be kept safe. Due to the Ancients expecting that generation of children to be the last, they did not build Daylight to last for long. His can is a different model in that his puppet is able to move around in ‘corridors’ and ‘rooms’ to take care of young, and their inner workings are much more insulated and childproofed.

Once the children had grown up and ascended, Daylight began to break down. They couldn’t call for help due to his programmed rules to not interact with other iterators unless the children were in danger, but he was clever. By maintaining all servers the best he could except for parts of her memory, they were able to forget their programming and call Sunset. elements to Daylight. Those saved his life.

However it came at a cost. By erasing parts of his memory, he was not the same, and became glitchy and erratic in trying to fill the gaps. He cut off communication to other iterators, and began to use his unusual mobility to repurpose his once nurturing hallways to something more out of a horror movie. He made carefully cultivated samples of Rot, and integrated it into his wiring and structure to perpetuate his life. Nobody knows what goes on in those dark halls, except maybe those experiments that are trapped inside…

if you read the whole thing you get a.. thank you? Idk how to put emojis on DeviantArt so no cookies

anyway Daylight is pretty cool, might draw them more. I also have one more oc that I wanna draw for rainworld, so that’s there too. If you want to choose what saved OCs I have that you want posted next, vote here: www.deviantart.com/orchuris/po…
