Or more accurately, I have read it's English fan translation.
The full translation of the title is apparently roughly: ''Digital Devil Story: Reincarnation of the Goddess''. (But of course, that title is far too long for a title of a deviation).
Anyway, this is the first story of the novel trilogy that started it all for Shin Megami Tensei and all of it's spin-off series including Persona, Devil Summoner, Digital Devil Saga, Soul Hackers, the Last Bible and the like.
