To understand Throt the Unclean, one must know something about Clan Moulder. One of the four Great Clans of the Skaven, Clan Moulder's speciality is creating some of the most horrifying war-beasts and monsters imaginable through breeding, mutating and surgery. Not only does this make their armies real terrors to face in battle, but Clan Moulder is one of the richest clans too, as they're quite happy to sell their creations, especially Rat Ogres, to the highest bidder.

Even for a mad scientist, Throt is bonkers. He's done an unhealthy amount of experiments with warpstone, which has mutated him both physically and mentally. His left eye has been replaced with a shard of warpstone whose energy affects his brain directly. The mutations have also made him unnaturally strong - he's strong enough to restrain a Rat Ogre by himself. It's also believed the excessive exposure to warpstone has notably lengthened his natural lifespan. However, these benefits come with a heavy cost - he requires food constantly in order to prevent the power of the warpstone from consuming him. Which is why he's almost always stuffing his mouth with various creatures he devours. If he's not eating, he's mindlessly ferocious.

Whether through the mutating effects of warpstone, cross-breeding or other horrific means, he's always seeking to create more and more destructive creatures.
