Ichimonji Hayato, a passionate and cheerful photographer. Hayato is also famous for being funny and always making jokes to those around him. Even so, when he takes photos he will be very serious and diligent. But his life becomes threatened after accidentally taking a picture of one of Shocker's actions.

While taking pictures in the forest, he was caught by an organization calling themselves Gel Shocker. His body is reconstructed into a Cyborg and will be used as a replacement for the treacherous Hongo Takeshi. Luckily, before brainwashing Takeshi came to Hayato's rescue. After the rescue, Hayato is trained by Takeshi to control his newfound powers. Hayato temporarily replaces Takeshi who goes to the US to track down the rest of Shocker. Before leaving, Takeshi gave Hayato a scarf similar to his.

After Takeshi returns, they become an unstoppable Rider duo. Hayato also got an upgrade from Takeshi as a token of gratitude for being his successor so well.

Hayato has two modes, Original and New-2 which are the same as Takeshi's. Kamen Rider 2 has the advantage in punching power, while Kamen Rider has the advantage in kick power. Kamen Rider 2 transforms with Typhoon type 2
