Description
This collage portrait portrays a woman mourning the loss of someone dear to her heart. I chose blue because I wanted to create a somber mood for this piece, and it perfectly contrasts the grey-black background. The flower represents a token of remembrance and love to her fallen kin. I based her design on a Egyptian woman.

I was compelled to create this art piece upon learning of the terrible terrorist attack in Egypt last November. Several gunmen stormed a mosque in Al-Rawda, Egypt; 305 worshipers perished including 27 children. I can't imagine the sorrow that many of the victims and their families are going through. Lest we forget.
