Charlie doesn't talk much, or at all about their past. But long story short they kicked them out of the house. So, they decided to go to the city, hoping to make something of themselves with hard work and perseverance. Needless to say they also don't have a place to live as well as no job.

A window into the past: When she was much younger she took kickboxing classes and martial arts as well but what she was really interested in was dancing. Ballet to be specific. Her parents refused to pay for the classes or even humor the idea. So Charlie never learned.
