The trees on the sides of the road create a symmetrical yet asymmetrical balance into the fog that creates quite a literal vanishing point. I think its great for the title as in you go from something that's so planned out because there's so little time to take care of things until your body is no longer able, into a smaller, less detailed version of life. Less detail because there's less to worry about and less to plan.
A lot of people try to focus on what they'll need for retirement, but really, I'd just be happy spending my days on a porch telling stories. I think that a thought like this is portrayed by the small messenger bag instead of a suit case or big luggage.
There is also a feel of modern an old.
