nice work for a first time, a hint the proper "tools" include: A sewing needle and/or toothpick, several short lengths of hanger with one end hammered out to different sizes (we used to use these in basic for weapon cleaners) a dead brush/toothbrush with stiffer bristles (use glue to stiffen them if necessary) for texturing and fur effects. The "tools" especially with minis easy to make yourself, my favorite tool is a spear shaped cocktail stick from a local bar reinforced with 5 min epoxy. The only two tools you really need to layout serious time for are imagination and practice lots of practice.

Excellent work on 'plague-ifying' the chaos marine, the ultramarine's hood and cloak are good for a first attempt. A little thick but it's better than my first attempt, cloaks are notoriously difficult to sculpt
An impressive first attempt all in all!

not bad for you first time working with green stuff the regular marines hood and cloak do look a bit rough in places did you use water or anything else to help try smooth sections?

what sculpting tools have you purchased? I myself stick to using a standard scapel and a set of colour shapers

I've found its a little easier to sculp the green stuff after its sat for a bit rather than using it directly after mixing it. Its a lot stickier at first and leads to the fingerprints being there, I know from experiance. Overall it looks pretty good and it gets the idea across. The Chaos marine looks better in my opinion because they are alright messy, but with out the right tools it does get to be pretty tricky. They look good and with practice you should have it in no time.

nice work, the robe could do with some refinement but very nice first work Generally like the feel the robe brings to the marine, hunkered, mysterious, grimey
