One of my favorite stones from my collection. It is a Sokia African Ruby.Round Cut
.94 Carats
Jewelers Loup clear 1 minor flaw under microscope.
Beautiful, just waiting for the right circumstance to be set in a piece.

The best way to learn is to just get interested in them. That interest drives you to learn as much as you can whether it is from books or the web. Check out jewelry sites to see the desirable gemstones and go from there when forming a collection for value. Otherwise pick up whatever interests you. Good luck
