you are who you want to be, in being so you may find one who in turn will not tell you who, how or what to be but enhance the very being you are and in doing so never ever be embarrassed in any manner within the person you have become by being you!!!

There are some people in each of our lives who will never be happy with us exactly as we are. And... it can be family. I know I haven't exactly reached to where my mother wishes I was in my life right yet. But both of us (you and me) have to learn to love ourselves for who we are. To live to make ourselves happy, and not just become what someone else wants, not become someone we aren't, for others, even if they are family.
For the record, I've always been proud to have you as a friend, Lou. x

lol thanks...it's actually not about a man....it's my sister...she's hurt me big time. Made me feel like an embarassment to her..as if she's ashamed I'm her sister. And it cuts deep.

Family can cut deep. My mom treated me that way before she died. We never made amends and it still hurts because we never made peace. If a man, it would be easier to deal with.
In the short--you are NOT an embarrassment to ANYONE. Family do not perceive other family members truly. They can't. It's sort of a blind-spot that all families have. I've seen it before.

Im so sorry to hear about your mum hun. Yeah ive had a pretty turbelant relationship with my mum too but for once she stuck up for me on this. It all came about because I wrote a blog about our government and that our PM should live in my shoes for a day, where I've gone without food so my kids could eat or the fact I only own 1 bra, 1 pair of jeans and 2 t shirts. My sister went ballistic saying it was embarassing but she called me all the names under the sun, ridculing me and also bringing up the fact I use y facebook status to vent when Im sick (basically when in pain at 3am and noone about Ill vent and usually someone says something. Its not for sympanthy but its a case of "youre not alone" when at that moment in time u feel v alone........so it cut deep and has hurt me SO much....Im trying to realise she;s the one in the wrong and Id rather her hate me for who I am than love me for someone Im not...

I been there. That's why I understand. I don't have any kids (thank god for THAT!), but am in the same straights. (No boobs or bra,either! 
At that, I hold out my hand and ask,"WITH WHAT?" If your sister is poor,too... I have no answers for you. She SHOULD understand!
I never understood my family while they lived, so I can't really understand other peoples. All I can give you is sympathy and some understanding. Just hang in there and keep open the lines of communication with your family These are hard times for everyone, and we're still doing better than the Europeans!

My sis is poor too, so I agree she should understand. She's skinny too so she can go to the cheap clothes stores and buy stuff, where as I have to go to the fat persons shop where they add £20 on just for being fatter than the rest lol
