Description
it's almost 2 am but i'm just pushing myself to post rn because i keep forgetting...my jedi consular is a terrible jedi and i love her...
This is Antæres, and she's the Worst^tm. Power is really her main interest- force secrets, political power, whatever form it takes. Sees it as the best way to ensure her survival. And she'll do whatever it takes to get at it. >:^}
I haven't even gotten that far in her class story yet on swtor, but she's already been a lot of fun to play...

Oh yes, my consular is definitely not afraid to use it if she thinks it's necessary- "Jedi Code? What Jedi Code?"

Ahaha yeah, gotta love a not-so-peaceful Consular! I haven't gotten to play much of her story yet (story of my life, I've got a character for every class even though I've only finished the Inquisitor and the Knight and now almost the Bounty Hunter now) but she's really going to be a disaster (at least by jedi standards!)

Yessss, I find that between the two Jedi classes (Knight/Consular), if any of them were going to fall to the Dark Side and make the most "sense" to do so from the start, it'd be the Consular. I explained mine by having her be an ex-Inquisitor (not the "Canon" one mind xD) who's old habits died pretty hard and who eventually went back to what she knew and did best essentially XD
Its a pretty good storyline! Shame the Jedi ones are so short in comparison, but once you get through Ch 1 the Consular plot really takes off :'D
(Hahahah, I feel you, I've still yet to even start Bounty Hunter or Trooper, and I've gotta finish Smuggler and Knight, but I have finished Consular, and Sith Warrior and Inquisitor as well as the Agent and they were awesome so now my standards are kinda high LOL)

Ooh, that's a very cool concept! For my consular my initial idea of how I wanted her to be was basically "warmongering politician" and I don't have a lot of her backstory figured out but i DO have a pretty solid idea of her mindset, there's a few core things that have been inspiration for that but I won't ramble too much about those now :"^)
but basically, she's just...very interested in power, and whatever it takes to get it. her view of the world in general is very...zero-sum? And she sees violence as necessary to achieve, like...security. Both in terms of politics- in how she believes the Republic should handle the conflict with the Empire- and on a more individual level? And I think she might genuinely believe that just about everyone thinks the way she does, that pursuit of power is like, the key motivator that drives everything. Also, related to the whole power thing, she's especially interested in Force Secrets and things. >:^)
(So basically, she's going to be pretty awful.) (Sorry for infodumping on you there, I just get excited to talk about my characters! :^0)
And yes I'm super excited to do her story- I've seen a lot of people say they think the Consular story is boring, but I, for one, think it seems very promising!
And yes, I've still got...so many of the stories to finish. And I just get excited about making and developing more characters lol, so I'm here coming up with them long before I'm probably gonna really play them :"^)
(God this comment is so long I'm sorry in advance)

Omg don't apologise, I loooooveee discussing characters with other people, especially when it comes to SWTOR, cause everyone looks at the game and storylines so differently and I find it so fascinating to compare notes as it were haha :')
She sounds super duper awesome, though! I shall be interested to see more of her too, sounds like she'll be a magnificent train wreck of a Jedi XD She's not exactly wrong, either, after all...the Jedi stories try to paint the Jedi/Republic as the Ultra Good Guys(tm), but hell, I found that playing the Empire storylines, a lot of the "terrible bad things" that the Republic are shown to do/be doing, were ten times worse and waaaaayyy more hypocritical than the "worst things" the Sith were trying to do in the Republic storylines Most of the time when you ran into a Sith/Imp as a Pub char they were explicitly clear in presenting themselves as "evil marauding bastards" to me, at least
whereas the Republic dudes are trying to act all kindly and innocent and you're stood there like "....dude, you're an asshole!"
I won't spoil too much of the storyline, cause I dunno how far in you are yet, but essentially, my Consular was kind of the same. Was an Inquisitor, who got on the wrong end of a Jedi Master and got her cocky little ass handed to her, but in true Jedi fashion the Jedi chose not to kill her and just let her go instead, so she eventually ended up going back to the Jedi because she felt like she owed said Jedi for not killing her (because a Sith would've done it).
But she eventually realised that, really, she was worse off with the Jedi because of certain things that happen in the story, so ultimately throwing her lot back in with the Empire was a better deal (given that her father is also Darth Nox, she kinda had a free pass to worm her way back in there without being killed on sight XD). Killing people for the Sith, vs. being an essentially thankless meatshield for the Jedi? Yeah, she threw them under the bus so hard
Yesss, I will agree that the prologue/some parts of Chapter 1 at the very start is kinda boring? (I found it kinda "meh" -ish anyways), but once you get to the end of Coruscant it's suddenly like "say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa now
" and it gets really, really juicy, so definitely worth sticking with!
From Chapter 2 onwards its just straight up "OH MY GOD THIS IS AWESOME" XD
Right?! And I know for me, I end up so attached to certain characters/companions and their storylines that instead of making a new, different class like I told myself I would, I end up making an alt for that same class because dangit, I wanna play that again! XD
(I can do long comments too, ooops? hahahaha)

Yo don’t mind the fact that i’m replying to this comment 6 entire months later! I meant to reply to it way back then but then i kind of just disappeared into the void. (i think i’d meant to reply to it right when i saw it, but then it was midterms week and i told myself i had to go study first, and then....forgot. for a long time.)
Your Consular does sound like a fun character to play! I still haven’t gotten around to playing mine, whoops, but I’ll get to her eventually! lately i’ve been working on my trooper, but also messing around with other characters (and also playing other games lately as well, been in a big kirby mood this summer).

Bwahahaha no worries man, it happens! School always should be more important anyways
She's great fun! I enjoy playing more Dark-sided inclined Jedi for about the same reason as I enjoy playing Light-sided inclined Sith : everyone is always so shocked/surprised when your char does something that's the complete opposite of what they're expected to do
Oh for sure, I have a soft spot for the Sith Warrior storyline in particular, I always go back to running that one...I should really try some of the others and finish them pfpfpf
I think I made an image a little while back that pretty much summed it up:
Mature Content
(long-suffering) Lightsided Sith-Warrior on the left, (kind of a jerk but somehow still lovable) Grey-Dark Consular on the right

Oh I love that, it really does sum up that dynamic lol!
And it is very fun to mess with the in-game expectations for a character for sure! Even beyond just the basic light vs dark!

I think it's the most accurate one I've done to date lol!
For sure, that's part of what makes me love SWTOR so much I think, actually, you can play the same storyline but with an entirely different char and you'll get a completely different dynamic with all the NPCs/companions depending on the personality you choose to give your char

I'm not sure she's necessarily in the business of influencing other Jedi to the dark side- she's not necessarily trying to join the Sith or get anyone else to join the Sith or anything (only reason she would might be if joining the sith seemed like a better deal, but as it is she can get quite a bit of power while staying in the Jedi order, so she's perfectly happy to stay there). However, it /is/ possible that she could influence another Jedi into her way of thinking, which might lead them to the dark side eventually...so I wouldn't be opposed to figuring out how she might interact with your OC.

no no no, I mean, she indireactly, cause my OC, get angrier or think in some same view as her, and cause, my OC, feel rescentment in the order, especially on her, you know like, a relationship of a Studnet with his/her master, but caused conflict in the end...
