Asian parents are strict, I mean, my people but I don't know others. One time a guy dated a Asian girl, he went to her house and met her dad. That dad was scary, he pulled his hunting gun at him to chase him away. This guy was no Asian and I think her dad wants her to date their people instead.
For Wally situation, I don't think Kani will pull out a gun. Besides, why did Wally and Kuki already marry in Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W. if Kani don't like him.

No, a lot of dads will do that regardless of the boy their daughter is dating. Never heard of this happening if the daughter was dating a girl, but I assume it wouldn't make a difference. The general idea of showing your daughter's date a gun is to say "if you break her heart, I will break you"
